Category: Geeks r Us
Below is a proposal which will hopefully benefit all zoners. If this is in the wrong category, please place it in its proper place.
There seems to be quite the trend of making Eloquense sing and birp and do crazy things. I realize that these things have been typed in quicknotes (I know, I've been doing it). I am sure that not all zoners are fans of this silliness. So, I invite any interested zoners to place your fun and crazy eloquense typings in this space in order that the quicknotes might be freed up from. Not all zoners are fans of this, so this is a happy compromise. If you don't like crazy eloquense, then don't read this board.
If you do, then ‵vs40 ‵vb84 let the ‵vs70 good ‵vs46 ‵vb75 times ‵vb70 roll ‵vb66 on, ‵vb57 baby.
Heh. I blanked that shit out with a jaws dictionary entry.
OMG that's awesome Guitar God. I have to confess, this thing still amuses me! I had no idea you could change pitch like that. I love it! hahahaha I'll have to have a better look at how you did that. :):)
All I've been able to do in the past was make it sound funny by writing crazy letters like
err'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'r?
Just copied the above text (as I'm not that smart yet to figure out where thos symbols are) and emailed it to my partner who's working away and will get a giggle out of it for sure. Lol
I don't know how to do any of that stuff but love listening to people who have a real talent for it. Great job, Guitar Guy.
And sorry to the talented op for getting your name wrong.
OK I get it; the VS is for the speed, and VB is for the pitch though not sure what the B stand for.
How do you do the back quote?
I was wondering W T F those VS and VB things were.... it was getting annoying seeing them
in publics last night... as one of the crazy sighteds around here, I don't use a speech
synthesizer and as such I wish that there was some way to set them on ignore because, as
rdfreak said, at least JAWS users can make it stop, but I have to put up with it cluttering my
screen.
hashtag sighted problems
Yes, this is something that JAWS users benefit from. I'm sure these codes are quite the eye soar for the sighties. Woke up early to work on this one. Eat your hearts out, Lennon and McCartney.
‵vs45 ‵vb70 Its been ‵vb65 A‵vs39 ‵vb68 hard day's night,
‵vs45 ‵vb70 And I've ‵vb66 been ‵vb70 work ‵vb74 kin ‵vb70 like ‵vb67 A ‵vs35 ‵vb69 Dog
‵vs45 ‵vb70 Its been ‵vb65 A‵vs39 ‵vb68 hard day's night,
‵vs45 ‵vb70 I should ‵vb66 be ‵vb70 sleep ‵vb74 pin ‵vb70 like ‵vb67 A ‵vs35 ‵vb68 log.
‵vs45 ‵vb68 But when ‵vb72 I ‵vb74 get ‵vb71 home. ‵vs49 ‵vb70 to ‵vb66 you.
‵vs45 ‵vb68 I ‵vb66 find ‵vb76 the ‵vs46 ‵vb77 things ‵vb78 that ‵vb76 you ‵vb70 do.
‵vs45 ‵vb69 will make ‵vb66 me ‵vs25 ‵vb71 fee, ‵vs48 Lall ‵vs36 ‵vb68 right
For my part, I think this is hilarious and genius.
There's a board on here for making synths do funny things, but it's probably long been locked by now, so this one can be the new revised version.
‵vs69 ‵vb95 "Oh boy! Thanks Anthony! Sounds super!"
-Mickey Mouse
I think this is brilliant as a board topic, but it did get a little frustrating in the QNs. GuitarGuy, great thinkin'!
QWuestion: is this an eloquence only thing? Could one do the same with something like vocalizer? if so I'd love to learn this for an audio project I'm working on.
It's for Eloquence only.
OMG the Mickey Mouse one was great. Thanks for making me laugh.
Ah, but there not being fair. There is a website on how to do this.
It makes me laugh as well.
I'll let them post the URL.
‵vs30 does ‵vb70 anyone know ‵vb60 how the heck to do the ‵vb70 back quote
But how doees one do the back quote?
how does one do the back quote, sorry.
I just copy and paste the character, so that's how I hack it. There is a way to create the character in wordpad.
‵vs40 ‵vy100
But its a secret.
Well, like the decktalks, there's a booklet for eloquence and making it sing.
https://myaccessibletutorials.wordpress.com/2013/07/31/singing-screen-readers-tutorial-only-works-with-eloquence/
Lol guitar; well hopefully the above tutorial might help. :)
And it does; It tells you how to write the back quote.
Thanks for posting that link. Very informative, but it does not include all of the effects you can create. It is a top notch entry if you want JAWS to ‵vs39 ‵vb58 sing ‵vb73 sing ‵vb81 sing ‵vb62 sing.
It doesn't show you, though, how to make JAWS ‵00
‵vb58 sing ‵vb70 like ‵vb76 Louie Arm ‵vb66 strong.
Erm that should be ‵vr100
‵vb58 sing ‵vb70 like ‵vb76 Louie Arm ‵vb66 strong. ‵vb55 Bah Bah ‵vb66 Doodoo ‵vb69 do ‵vb61 Dah ‵vb58 do.
‵vr90
‵vs35 And I say to myself, what a ‵vb68 won ‵vb70 der ‵vb73 full ‵vb70 woild.
I was always womdering what those silly letters and number formations ment. Thought
they were typos but now I know and there no good too me. Good post guitarguy.

‵vs40 ‵vb123What the fuck is all of this about anyway?
I still have when someone made JAWS meow. That's funny! I'm gonna figure this out when my headache goes away. Listing to loud dogs bark really hurt my head, so later on my attempt.
GG, you gotta make Lewis Armstrong sound all gravelly, like he smokes too much. LOL Seriously. His voice sounded like the poor fart needed new vocal chords.
God Bless!
Sarah/HW
I know on youtube someone did a rather amusing JAWS gangsta rap.
I have some stuff someone did with Dec Talk. Funnier than a blue cow! Fighting, musical messages, Drunken Dec Talk, you name it!
Lol Guitar, that Loui Armstrong affect is awesome; how do ya do that? I couldn't find any extra symbols; obviously I'm missing something.
It's OK; I got it now, but what is the R supposed to stand for?
The poor Mac misses all this lol so does he iPhone. But if Android has
Eloquence, it would work.
Lol, I find this amusing and interesting up to a point, but I do think I would get anoyed after a while if I saw it too much on quicknotes. Wonder how do you tell jaws to ignore it?
Louis Armstrong in 1964 was older, so he has to sound a bit older.
‵vr95
‵vs40 ‵vb80 hello ‵vb67 Dolly, ‵vb80 its ‵vb83 Louis ‵vb70 dolly.
‵vr100
‵vs40 that is an awesome affect. try going to 100!
‵vs40 ‵vb55 You ‵vb68 won't be ‵vb40 disappointed!
She! Got it! haha
Interesting this only appears to work with Eloquence for JAWS. No impact using Window-Eyes whatsoever so don't know if it would work with Eloquence for Android.
‵vs25 ‵vy100
Be quiet everyone! I don't want to have to kick your asses out of this library.
Lol, I love when they do that stuff! It craks me up! I wanna know how to do that! Guitar guy, can you teach me how to?
‵vs25 ‵vy100
I'm gonna try somethin', and see how it works. Don't tell.
This is histerical!
Good try, Sarah. When using those commands, its best just to leave one line break in there, not two.
‵vy90
It works like this.
‵vy75
Not like this.
Ah, okay. :) Nightmare was complaining about it. Grrr!
The backquote is a Unicode character so you need to use a Unicode-capable editor,Wordpad will work. The character value is 8245, and the way you enter that is turn on your number lock, press and hold the alt key down and type the numbers 8245, then release the alt key. Don't forget to turn off the num lock afterwards or when you try and use screen reading commands you'll type numbers instead.
A few years ago, when I joined this site, I coined the term "speech emoticons" because nobody had any other word to describe these. I had never heard of anyone doing this before I came on this site. To me, it's no different than the constant use of emoticons by people. Although if you're using Braille or something other than Eloquence it looks like clutter. Then again, to some grammar Nazis emoticons look like clutter too.
Anyway, I think it's very creative. And what a surprise when I heard Eloquence talk like a sportscaster. Something like this:
ar'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'rr you rr'rr'rr'rr'rr'reddy!
I'm missing something, apparently.
Thanks, Leo, for the technical side of this! It sounds like a complex set of maneuvers. Again, you can sort of be a hack like me and just copy the ‵ symbol.
I agree, this is akin to emoticons for screen readers. What if the two joined forces?
‵vf100
‵vb75 :)
@Sarah
I stand corrected. I thought only one line break would work for the "whisper effect," but two seems to do the trick. Sorry if I misled you.
Thanks, Leo! I'm tryin it!
It seems to work better on the next line though.
‵vh70
‵vb49 ‵vs45 And now, Leave it to Beaver! Starring Jerry Matthers, as the Beaver.
‵vh70 ‵vr70
‵vb95 Hey boys, why were you so late coming home from the football game tonight?
‵vh80
‵vb70 Well Golly mom, can't some guys j'j'just dick around with with the f'f'f'ffellas, s's's'sumtimes??
‵vh70 ‵vr70
‵vb95 Wallace Cleaver! What's gotten into you?
‵vh0 ‵vf80
‵vb100 According to Eddie Haskle, about a fifth of scotch. The real cheap kind, though.
‵vh80
‵vb70 Beaver you little creep. I'm gonna, I'll just, knock your block off!
‵vh0 ‵vf80
‵vb100 Well, I'd like to see you try. You guys didn't even give me a nip, so there!
‵vh70 ‵vr70
‵vb90 Well if this is true, your father's going to have a long talk with you.
‵vh0 ‵vf80
‵vb100 Is Walley gonna get the belt, Mom?
‵vh70 ‵vr70
‵vb95 Just the belt if he's lucky. Now you boys go wash up before bed.
some call this creative, others call this noise/people having too much time on their hands.
Hahaha, were is that from, guitar guy?
Its a long lost deleted scene from Leave It to Beaver...
I'd say this constitutes as both, Chelsea. As for people having too much time on their hands, that's pretty much the entire definition of this place, isn't it?
And the Leave it to Beaver bit was actually rather amusing. Though for some reason reading by paragraph didn't always work. I had to go to the next line, then go to the previous paragraph to get the effect.
Hey if Wally and Beaver had really had a few nips of Scotch, the show might have actually been fun to watch.
I think it's pretty creative GuitarGuy.
Some day I'd like to learn to do that.
No, Becky, I don't think scotch would help--maybe a little weed.
Bob
Can you do one of family guy? Please?
Is this all a form of jaws lingo? It's spall a form of letters and words too my eyes.
Lol will never get old.
@Toni
Yes, this is strictly a JAWS programming thing. It reads very clunky and not much to look at visually. Different sounds and voices are produced.
@Marilyn
The Family Guy voices are too difficult to reproduce accurately. If I find a way, or if anyone else does, it will be posted.
‵vy75 ‵vh0
‵vb75 ‵vs45 Hello Zoners. Its Luciel Ball here, reminding you about the dangers of smoking.
‵vy75 ‵vh0
‵vb75 ‵vs45 Remember, if she smokes, she polks. Just ask Ricky!
